Insect pests and diseases

The presence of insects and diseases in an establishing pasture or forage crop can have a significant impact on the long term prospects of that particular pasture or crop. The first four to six weeks after sowing is a critical stage in the life of a new plant as seedlings emerge and develop their plant structures. This is the period when seedlings are most at risk from insect and disease attack. It is estimated that 50-60% of poor seedling establishment is due to direct losses caused by insect pests and diseases.

PGG Wrightson Seeds’ products target the most economically damaging plant establishment pests and diseases in New Zealand through broad-spectrum chemical activity.
